Solidarity Youth Movement has initiated and completed various large scale projects which may be categorized as piloting or otherwise. Some of them are periodic and annual while there are long term projects also. Some of the major projects of Solidarity Youth Movement include the Community Development Projects. These have been implemented in various regions such as Marad, Nathunippadam, South Marippuram, Karimadam colony, etc. These regions are those victimized by communal riots, exploitation by mining companies or land mafias, underdevelopment due to homelessness and poverty, or those resided by people who have been victims of social and communal violence. These projects include an entire package of works required for the complete development of a community such as construction of houses, schools, public water distribution system, hospitals, provision of basic requirements for sustenance, financial aid, self-employment sources, etc. Another major project implemented by the Solidarity Youth Movement is the Sunrise Kochi (an abbreviation for Solidarity’s Urban Neighborhood Rebuilding Initiative for Social Empowerment), which is a slum rehabilitation venture. This project aims at bringing to notice of the government, the neglect, backwardness and underdevelopment of West Kochi which comprises of Fort Kochi, Mattanchery, Kochangadi and Palluruthy. Sunrise Kochi focuses on the following areas for the development and eradication of the backwardness of West Kochi

  8. Sanitation Project
  9. SUNRISE KOCHI Livelihood Center
  Other works include provision of help and support to the needy patients. Educational projects include provision of study materials, scholarships and coaching facilities to the students coming from socio-economically backward communities. Solidarity deeply focuses on this as educating the younger generation of such communities shall facilitate the overall development of such communities in the future. It also provides food-kits to poor and needy families and households during festivals and occasions. Solidarity provides financial aid to needy families and individuals who have been a victim of some sort to the social and communal injustices. It also provides them with basic source of sustenance. This is also done by providing them with jobs through self- employment projects initiated by Solidarity, which can help provide them with a sustained source of income. Solidarity also conducts various medical camps within such communities which help to keep in check the health conditions of those who are unable to access basic treatment facilities.
In regions where Solidarity Youth Movement initiated community development projects and also otherwise, it has focused on the development of the student community in such regions. Solidarity has distributed study-aid materials such as books, study guides, stationaries to the students living at Marad, Karimadam colony, etc. It also provides scholarships and other financial aid to help students in covering the financial requirements for the completion of their education. Other educational works include organizing coaching classes to prepare for PSC examinations which shall help to ensure government jobs with better job security and other working conditions and future benefits.
